1:1 Promotion Coaching for Engineers

For engineers who are doing good work but still aren't moving up as quickly as they think they should.

If you're already a strong engineer… but still feel stuck at your current level, this is for you.

You're doing the work. You may even be getting good feedback. But something isn't translating into the next level.

I work with engineers who are already capable at their jobs but need to become more clearly ready for the next level.

Not by becoming louder or trying to impress leadership.

By doing higher-level work, making its impact easier to see, and building evidence that you can handle more responsibility.

Here's What We Work Toward

Understand the gap

We figure out what your next level requires, what you're already demonstrating, and what's missing. Instead of vaguely trying to "do more," you know what you need to work on.

Do higher-level work

You start identifying opportunities to own larger problems, increase your scope, help others, improve processes, and take on work that demonstrates more responsibility.

Build the evidence

Over time, you build real examples of higher-level work, ownership, impact, and leadership — and get better at communicating that work to the people making promotion decisions.

Most engineers I talk to have already tried things like:

But they're still not sure what is actually holding them back.

What We Focus On
How It Works

We meet once per week for a 1:1 session.

The work is based on what is actually happening in your job. Bring your projects, manager conversations, performance feedback, promotion discussions, or opportunities you're considering, and we'll work through what makes sense to do next.

You also get:

Nothing complicated. The point is to help you make better career decisions while you're actually doing the work.

A Few Real Outcomes

I've worked with engineers at very different stages of their careers.

Different companies. Different situations. Different paths. The common thread was becoming more intentional about what they needed to demonstrate to move forward.

A Bit About Me

I spent eight years at John Deere as an engineer and engineering leader and was promoted four times.

I've seen promotion decisions from both sides: as the engineer trying to move forward and as a leader evaluating engineers and deciding who was ready for more responsibility.

I don't believe promotions come from tricks or networking for the sake of networking. You need to understand what the next level requires, get opportunities to demonstrate it, and make sure there is enough evidence for other people to see it. That's what we work on.

The Guarantee

Complete your first month. Show up, do the work we agree on, and ask for help when you get stuck. If you still don't have a much clearer understanding of what is holding you back and what you should be doing differently, I'll continue working with you at no additional cost until you do.

Investment
$1,000 per month
or $2,750 for 3 months upfront
No minimum commitment unless you prepay for 3 months.

I only work with a limited number of 1:1 clients at a time.

P.S. We'll start by looking at your current role, the level you want, the work you're doing today, and where the biggest gaps appear to be. No generic career plan. We start with your actual situation.
